Praise Report and

Current Immediate needs

Praise Report:

Thanks to the generosity of a special donor we were able to purchase the land on which to build the 4th and 5th homes.  On behalf of the kids and their future, we thank you.

Next phase needs:

The 3rd home is nearly built. We not need the funds to furnish and help landscape for a safe area for the kids.

We would like to begin building the 4th-5th homes. Each home will cost approximately $45,000 to build and furnish with the basics.  If you are able to help us begin building the next home we would be delighted to meet in person in the States, Rwanda or via Skype video call.

Self sufficiency is something we strive for and have three ideas to help us

accomplish it.

First - We would like to purchase some  3 more cows in order to sell

the  milk.  We have enough for our kids, but we could now sell the surplus to

offset our costs.  Each high producing cow is $2000.

Second - We believe we could also generate income by adding a modest                       chicken farm to one of the pieces of land we now own.  We could use the eggs to help feed the children, but also to sell the extra at the market. Cost is $3,000

Third - We also believe there is a market for a bread making business.

The Mommies and Aunties could add this to their already busy schedule to generate additional funds. The bread making machine system costs $8,000.

Ideally we would like the focus to be exclusively on caring for the kids, but until we have steady on-going monthly donors we believe any of the above three ideas could help us be more self sufficient.

We welcome discussions on any of the above, or other ideas that you might have.

Lastly, we are looking to secure a full time assistant for Chantal to help manage New Hope Homes. Chantal continues to donate all of her time, but frankly there is not enough of her to go around as the number of children increase. We believe it would cost about $6,000/year.
